Tips and Recommendations

Georgian Cuisine in Tbilisi

Tamar Gegechkori recommends...

Keto and Kote restaurant is a hidden gem located in the historic Vera district of Tbilisi.

Named after an iconic Georgian comedic opera, Keto and Kote's remodeled house is tricky to find if you haven’t been there already, so don’t feel bad for relying on Google Maps for the time being. It only adds to the excitement of discovery and anticipation of some truly authentic Georgian cuisine.

Mingle with locals who like to get away from overdone touristy spots, enjoy the views from the veranda, and don’t forget to try such Megrelian cuisine staples as elarji and gebjalia.

Keto and Kote, Zandukeli Dead End, 3, Tbilisi 0179, Georgia, Tel. +995 322 93 02 00

Where to Stay...in Cologne, Germany

Jeff Gedmin recommends...

Hotel Chelsea, an art-filled boutique hotel located in the hipster chic neighborhood near Cologne's city center.

For more than 30 years the Hotel Chelsea has served as a "home away from home" for many artists, including Walter Dahn, Jiri Georg Dokoupil, Martin Kippenberger, Albert und Markus Oehlen, Andreas Schulze, Günther Förg, A.R. Penck, Georg Herold, Sam Samore, and Rosemarie Trockel—and displays their works in the guest rooms.
