#BlueStarBrief June 2019

Celebrating our 10th Anniversary as a Firm

2019 marks the 10th anniversary of our international government relations firm.

We are deeply grateful to our clients for the opportunity to work around the world promoting governments, private industry, investment, and international trade.

We launched Blue Star Strategies in 2009 as a boutique firm with a vision to provide strategies and advocacy uniquely tailored to each international client seeking solutions that bridge the gap between governments, the private sector,
and nongovernmental organizations.

We take this opportunity to reaffirm our mission to provide outstanding strategies and successful outcomes through dedication and excellence.

Most importantly, we thank each of our valued clients, partners, friends,
and families for their ongoing trust, support, and inspiration.

With warmest regards,

Karen Tramontano and Sally Painter

2020 US Presidential Campaign Update

As we approach the U.S. presidential election in November 2020, we look forward to providing important updates and developments from the campaign trail.

Currently, the field of Democratic party candidates is taking shape, with as many as 24 men and women having officially announced their candidacies. Those candidates still campaigning in 2020 will compete in the Democratic party's primary elections and "caucuses" during the first half of 2020.

On the Republican side, President Trump, who was elected in 2016, is seeking re-election to a second term. The Democratic and Republican parties' political conventions will take place in July and August 2020, respectively, during which their presidential nominees will be officially elected.

The winner of the 2020 presidential election is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20, 2021.

The coming months of 2019 will showcase a series of televised debates among Democratic party candidates, the first two of which will be:

  • Miami, Florida — June 26-27 (NBC/MSNBC/Telemundo)
  • Detroit, Michigan — July 30-31 (CNN)
