Transatlantic Perspectives: The U.S. Inflation Reduction Act
The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA) was passed by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Biden on August 16, 2022. This landmark United States federal law aims to curb inflation by reducing the deficit, lowering prescription drug prices, and investing into domestic energy production while promoting clean energy.

On March 9, 2023, President Biden unveiled his 2024 budget proposal in Pennsylvania, a
staged event that had not been done in years. The event demonstrates that President Biden is taking his budget conversation directly to the American people and not waiting for Washington to create his budget narrative.
Jesica Lindgren was a panelist on the Embrace Equity webinar hosted by the Carolinas, Washington, DC, and Georgia chapters of of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in honor of International Women's Day on March 8, 2023.
The discussion highlighted how women are playing an increasingly active role to promote and embrace equity on diverse boards that serve our communities.
Jesica serves as president of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce-Washington D.C (SACC-DC).
This first-ever event will convene city, state, municipal, and regional leaders from throughout the Western Hemisphere to focus on shared challenges and opportunities alongside diverse stakeholders from the private sector, civil society, and youth.
The summit is an effort to create new economic opportunities and to drive implementation of leader-level commitments from the 9th Summit of the Americas held in Los Angeles, California in June 2022.
The gathering is hosted by The City of Denver, State of Colorado, and Biennial of the Americas in partnership with the U.S. Department of
State.
