As the Russian invasion of Ukraine enters its fourth month, we continue to support our friends and allies in Ukraine as they fight to preserve their freedom. We must fight the instinct to accept the invasion as the "new normal" just because it's no longer breaking news. Ukraine, and all of Central and Eastern Europe, need our thoughts, advocacy, and support to secure their freedom and protect them from future aggression. To see how you can continue to support and stay updated, take a look at our March edition.
Here's what we have for you in this month's #BlueStarBrief:

Looking Towards the Midterms: An Update on US Primary
Elections
On June 7th, primaries took place in California, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota. While it is still too soon to forecast what the House and Senate will look like come
January, primary results so far have shown us that strong fundraising by GOP candidates has helped establishment Republicans hold their ground against MAGA-oriented challengers, while Democrats continued their efforts to capture long-time Republican seats made more favorable to them by redistricting.
Read more about the recent primary results and what they mean for the fall elections here.
Following a landslide victory in the country’s recent parliamentary elections, the new Fidesz-KDNP supermajority of the Hungarian National Assembly approved Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s proposed Government on
24th May, voting his fifth Cabinet of Ministers into office.
The fifth Orbán Government takes office following a major restructuring of the government. There is a clear focus on fixing the country’s ailing economy, as Hungary faces multiple internal and external challenges, not least the economic and social impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Aretera takes a deeper look at the results of the government restructuring, the likely government priorities, Hungary’s political
landscape, as well as possible implications for investors here.
In a surprising turn of events, the first round of elections in Colombia has led to a second round between Gustavo Petro, a left-wing former guerrilla candidate, and Rodolfo Hernandez, a right-wing businessman who has been described as a Trump-like TikTok star.
Read more about the results of the first round and the upcoming second round here.
